Felsina Riserva 2009

Tasting: Felsina "Berardenga" Chianti Classico Riserva 2009

The nose starts off with elegant red cherry and dusty dried cherry skins and is a bit subdued at first. The palate shows great notes of dried herbs and grilled meat with lean black cherry, licorice, aromatic wood, and grapefruit rind. Later, the aromatics and dried herbs become more pronounced as it opens up. Dusty tannins and good supporting acidity are present on the palate, and are well balanced with the other components. This will certainly benefit from time and integration. Top notch Chianti Classico. No surprise from this fine producer who provides quality consistently. Always an easy choice for me.
